Paralegal and Office Administrator - Dartnell Lutz
I began working with Doug in 1986 and with Jim in 1992 and have been with the firm since its inception. I graduated from the Legal Assistant Diploma Program at Red Deer College in 1983. Throughout my career, I have worked in several areas of law and I like the challenges of working in a general practice law firm. You learn something new every day.
In my spare time, I am an avid bowler, baker and crafter. I try to get away camping every chance I get.
Even after more than 3 decades in the legal business, I can honestly say that I still love my job and I look forward to coming to the office every day.

Paralegal - Dartnell Lutz
I have an extensive knowledge and background in criminal law stemming from my work along side high profile criminal defence lawyers as well as for the Crown Prosecutor’s Office in Calgary. I received my Diploma from SAIT in the Legal Assistant Program in 2005. I was then asked to return to SAIT where I assisted in re-writing the curriculum and then went on to teach the Criminal Law section of the LA Program. I completed my practicum with Dartnell Lutz and from there covered a maternity leave for another Legal Assistant. I went on to challenge myself as an independent contractor working with criminal defence and an opportunity came up to work in the CaRRRO division at the Crown’s Office. Although this gave me an inside look at how the “other side” of the law works and operates, along with making great friendships and contacts, I was drawn back to what I’ve always loved, criminal law and working along side Jim, Anne and Doug.
I really enjoy talking to clients to ensure they understand where their file is at when it comes to the legal process. I am happy when the clients know we are doing everything we can to assist them with their case and they appreciate the knowledge. I most enjoy taking a file and stripping it down to its core and assisting Jim in finding any disclosure issues, discrepancies and elements that will be helpful at or before trial.
